Never say never, Racist Joe. For example, the Second Amendment has been our right for over 200 years and you loony liberals are still trying to overturn it! I applaud the Republicans' efforts to change the Obamacare tax from the train wreck that it is into something more acceptable. Even the unions and Congress itself don't want Obamacare! Just how many times do you have be hit upside your head until something sinks in?
I noticed that fog-of-war has stopped defending the legislation and has switched to "ha-ha, we got it passed, now you just have to live with it". No regard for the country, no regard for the people, no regard for future generations....just gloating that a piece of the far left's agenda got passed. Obviously, control was the only motivation for the legislation otherwise a much smaller bill (that included folks on a voluntary basis only) would have been rolled out. You know, a program to cover those in need that didn't require the rest of us to change a thing.
Here are your " 30 million people thrown off of medical insurance coverage". - See more at: http://cnsnews.com/news/article/cbo-obamacare-will-leave-30-million-uninsured#sthash.HXgk4QAK.dpuf BTW, it may be the "law of the land", but we may not have to abide by it. If Obama keeps delaying everything, no one may have to abide by it.
I'm glad to see that you added Jackie to your three-way circle jerk. Every party needs an angry drunken clown to liven it up.
So...the OP link has a link to the actual poll. If you read it, without the spin, you see things like... Pg 40 5 Q5. - WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING THREE VIEWS COMES CLOSEST TO YOUR OWN? 1. I SUPPORT THE HEALTH CARE LAW, AND THINK IT SHOULD GO FORWARD FULLY AND WITHOUT CHANGES. 2. I HAVE CONCERNS ABOUT THE HEALTH CARE LAW, AND THINK ITS IMPLEMENTATION SHOULD BE SLOWED DOWN, AND CHANGES SHOULD BE MADE TO IT. OR 3. I OPPOSE THE HEALTH CARE LAW, AND THINK IT SHOULD BE REPEALED. - 1000 Total - 200 20.0 SUPPORT/GO FORWARD - 320 32.0 SLOWED DOWN/CHANGED - 445 44.5 OPPOSE/REPEALED - 35 3.5 DK/REFUSED ...that suggests (to me) that 76.5% of respondents feel the PP&AHCA (aka Obamacare) should be changed or repealed. In other words, they don't feel it should be implemented in its current form. Here's a link to the summary of conclusions drawn by the polling specialists, Basswood Research. The poll was commissioned by the RNC specifically to learn the leanings of voters in ten (10) close Congressional districts that are "Republican-leaning" districts, but that are led by Repubicans (6) and Democrats (4). http://heritageaction.com/press-releases/poll-house-majority-not-at-stake-over-defund-of-obamacare/ Republicans have never been opposed to legislation to make Healthcare more affordable. However, this law isn't the answer. For instance, there's nothing in the AHCA that address tort reform which is a major contributor to healthcare costs. Had Democrats partnered with their Republican counterparts, we wouldn't be in this mess. Don't blame Congressional gridlock on Republicans...they're only fixing the mess created by the out-of-control 111th Congress.
The final bill passed had like 600 or 800 Republican ideas. It is almost a carbon copy of Romney care. It was all but completely written by the same folks. See here Ryan admitting Republican ideas: http://thinkprogress.org/health/201...admission-republicans-helped-write-obamacare/ I have yet to see any comprehensive plan from Republicans. Maybe you can point it out for me.
Republican Ideas Included in the President's Proposal It’s clear that the American people want health insurance reform. They aren’t interested in Democratic ideas or Republican ideas. They’re interested in the best ideas to reduce costs, guarantee choices and ensure the highest quality care. They’re interested in ideas that will put them back in control of their own health care. Throughout the debate on health insurance reform, Republican concepts and proposals have been included in legislation. In fact, hundreds of Republican amendments were adopted during the committee mark-up process. As a result, both the Senate and the House passed key Republican proposals that are incorporated into the President’s Proposal. Review a few of the Republican initiatives included in legislation passed by Congress: Includes personal responsibility incentives: Allows health insurance premium to vary based on participation in proven employer wellness programs (Sources: H.R. 3468, “Promoting Health and Preventing Chronic Disease through Prevention and Wellness Programs for Employees, Communities, and Individuals Act” (Castle bill); H.R. 4038, “Common Sense Health Care Reform & Accountability Act” (Republican Substitute bill); H.R. 3400, “Empowering Patients First Act” (Republican Study Committee bill); H.R. 3970, “Medical Rights & Reform Act” (Kirk bill), "Coverage, Prevention and Reform Act") Advances medical liability reform through grants to States: Provides grants to States to jump-start and evaluate promising medical liability reform ideas to put patient safety first, prevent medical errors, and reduce liability premiums. (Sources: S. 1783, “Ten Steps to Transform Health Care in America Act” (Enzi bill); H.R. 3400, “Empowering Patients First Act” (Republican Study Committee bill); H.R. 4529, “Roadmap for America’s Future Act” (Ryan bill); S. 1099, “Patients’ Choice Act” (Burr-Coburn, Ryan-Nunes bill)) Extends dependent coverage to age 26: Gives young adults new options. (Sources: H.R. 4038, “Common Sense Health Care Reform & Accountability Act” (Republican Substitute bill); H.R. 3970, “Medical Rights & Reform Act” (Kirk bill)) Allows automatic enrollment by employers in health insurance: Allows employee to opt-out. (Sources: House Republican Substitute; H.R. 3400, “Empowering Patients First Act” (Republican Study Committee bill); “Coverage, Prevention, and Reform Act” ) Mechanisms to improve quality. (Sources: H.R. 4529, “Roadmap for America’s Future Act;” S. 1099, “Patients’ Choice Act;” H.R. 3400, Republican Study Group bill; S. 1783, “Ten Steps to Transform Health Care in America Act” (Enzi bill)) Community Mental Health Centers. The President’s Proposal ensures that individuals have access to comprehensive mental health services in the community setting, but strengthens standards for facilities that seek reimbursement as community mental health centers by ensuring these facilities are providing appropriate care and not taking advantage of Medicare patients or the taxpayers. (Source: H.R. 3970, “Medical Rights & Reform Act”)
Well, of course RomneyCare was written by the same folks...he was the Governor of The Socialist Republic of MASSACHUSETTS. At least he listened to his constituents and drafted a healthcare plan they wanted...he didn't run over them like a Mac truck. Republicans agree that there are some good provisions in Obamacare...they've always said that. What they don't support is an unfunded, Government run healthcare system. Why can't Democrats simply sit down with Republicans and hammer out healthcare reform legislation that actually works? ...as Rep Ryan recommends.
WOW! You mean there were actually a couple of page that the Republicans supported? Out of 2600 (now 20,000+) the Republicans actually like about 2 pages. Gee, maybe 2 out of 2600 republicans voted for it. Oh, that's right. NOT ONE of the Republicans voted for it, did they?
From the very beginning, the Democrats have said that the new law would take some tweeking. Just the like the Social Security Program when it first started. The problem the Republicans have is that they have poisoned their own well so badly, none of them can be seen sitting down with Democrats to discuss anything other than repeal OR they will be primaried out of a job. And one other point, There is no "government run health care system" other than the VA. The government does regulate health insurance but the government regulates thousands of industries that nobody accuses them of running. Why is this instance any different?
You've never been audited? Try not paying a student loan back some time and see how the IRS likes you. Tell me please what you believe the penalties are that the IRS will level individuals and employers for non-compliance. Specifically.
First off...if you take out a loan, you should repay it...right? Walking away from home mortgages and student loans is a "right" to which Democrats feel they are entitled. Apart from the fact that those living in our vast underground economy (of unreported income) will actually receive Federal subsidies for healthcare...which is a penalty imposed on all honest taxpayers...here's the Obamacare penalty calculator.... http://www.healthinsurance.org/learn/obamacare-penalty-calculator/ ...which will be assessed against your income tax refund. If you don't have enough to cover the penalty for not purchasing coverage, additional penalties and interest will be assessed which can result in wage garnishment and jail...no differently than if you "get caught" failing to pay all your income tax. If you don't provide the forms necessary to declare your healthcare liability, the IRS will assume "worse case scenario" (as they do with Income Tax) and assess penalties and interest accordingly. It creates the same infrastructure to be expanded and abused as did the 16th Amendment once it was passed. Employers are hit harder still... http://news.investors.com/ibd-editorials-perspective/081213-667236-obamacare-penalties-will-be-bigger-in-2015.htm ...yeah, that will bring jobs back to America. What's really disingenuous about Obamacare is that many penalties have been pushed back...beyond the 2014 elections.
Yakpoo......you very close to getting called either drunk or racist. Remember when Gosnell comes out swinging it means you have posted a fact he cannot deal with;-)
