I don't think it's legal and they'll be fined for doing so. However, union jobs basically force new employees to join anyways as non-union workers are not protected, do not get paid under agreements and have no representation. I wouldn't want a new employee getting the same benefits I get with my paid union dues if they aren't paying theirs, and where I work they don't. If they want to make 100K less a year thats their option.

In short, though, I do not agree with unions strong-arming employees into joining to maintain employment. Thats one reason I've never cared for the Teamsters.

Just another example of a union existing for no reason other than to collect dues & use the money to advance liberal causes/candidates.

They give to and support liberals because conservatives want them gone along with employee benefits. I'm fortunate in that our union doesn't contribute to political candidates or issues unless you volunteer to contribute individually, which I do not do. They started this about 20 years ago with my union because so many people were not aligned with a certain, or any party, and felt their dues should be going for other things. I think it should be a standard option with all unions, but so far as I know, only the one has it so far.
