Do you guys EVER put ANY thought into the talking points and narratives you endlessly spew? Every time I ask for any kind of specifics you run and hide, ignore, evade, insult, name call, talk to each other,... anything but actually explain your talking points. It says a lot about the shallowness of your political positions when you can't even explain them and why most of us just toy with you and then walk away laughing.
But it feels good to them, the circle-jerking. It's like sex, but without any actual touching involved. Touching gives them the willies.
Where have you been? I will bet 1,000's of them have been posted here or you can just listen to the CBO, but I doubt you will do/believe either.
They do this constantly and then declare themselves the victors. I don't know which is worse, being unable to defend your positions or congratulating yourself for having them? A sad lot to be sure.
Just give me one job that was lost because of Obamacare? I probably won't get to excited but at least it would be an answer.
I wonder if the gap is growing wider because more big business is getting by with less employees to stretch their profits. Where I work, for example, is still hiring on average 500-600 employees per year, but thats to replace the retiring baby boomers who vacate around 2000 positions per year. While I have to work more to cover the loss, I'm also making more (doubling my earnings from just 10 years ago), helping to widen that gap even further. The recession taught big business a lot of bad habits...habits that aren't going away under anyone's administration anytime soon. Conservatives can blame the liberals and vise-versa, but the fact remains, the gap exists because both sides allow it to.
OK! My neighbors closed their restaurant. There were 200 jobs. http://washingtonexaminer.com/democ...article/2515711?custom_click=rss#.UMgTf6WsjnY http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...macare-tax-prepare-for-layoffs/#ixzz2F2uNNMIv http://smallbusiness.foxbusiness.co...d-tightly-by-health-care-law/?intcmp=HPBucket http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/337594/obamacare-s-job-killer-jillian-kay-melchior# http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...dical-company-lays-off-100-blames-obama-care/ http://nation.foxnews.com/obamacare...-cutting-employee-hours-avoid-obamacare-costs http://www.weeklystandard.com/articles/unions-vs-obamacare_707688.html http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/05/25/unions-reliable-democratic-supporters-split-from-president-on-obamacare/#ixzz2ULutU3ld http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/...ry-ceo-david-overton-obamacare_n_2236673.html http://www.partisanlines.com/threads/it-was-only-a-matter-of-time-before-this-began.49767/
Today, the gap between the "haves" and the "have nots" is growing. It's growing mainly due to Quantitative Easing (QE). I was prudent. I didn't buy the new car or big screen TV. I even cancelled my cell phone and cable TV...I really don't need those things; I saved/invested instead. The Obama Administration is really great for folks with investments...folks like me. QE pushes down interest rates and pumps up stocks. The folks that lose out are the elderly on fixed income. Instead of making 5% on their savings, QE pushes interest rates down to the point were they earn less than 1% on their savings. I refinanced my house at 4% and pay less than $900/month for a 2800 sf house in the DC area. I'm swimming in money due to BO economic policies. What's sad is that Democrats claim to be helping the "little guy", but they end up hurting them. Economically, I (personally) do WAY better with Democrats in charge...but is that right? Their policies hurt the poor and destroy our overall economic foundation. If the poor had a "Clue", they would never vote for a Democrat. That's why they stay poor; that's where Democrats want them.
That is a lot of broad statements. Which Democratic policies in particular are you referring to? Isn't it a fact that the 1% do well no matter who is running the country? After all, the system is built for them.
Be careful! When you espouse personal responsibility & back it up with a real-world example, you are trampling all over the far left's narrative that says one can only succeed with the help of the benevolent government.
The government hasn't helped me. I despise welfare. Does that make me a conservative? Hardly. It makes me a fiscally sound thinker...something both sides need to be and aren't. The neo-con manifesto won't win you a legitimate point.
This is exactly why people like you come across as completely clueless to me. "Gee, I'm a white male and I made it so that must mean that those who haven't made it must lack personal responsibility". Ooooor, perhaps as white males, you have had every opportunity that has been denied poor black people and other minorities, immigrants, women, gays, and just about everyone else not in the white male demographic? As a white male myself, I too benefitted from winning the demographic lottery but the difference between you and I is that I do not turn around and blame those that have already been victimized by a system never designed for their race, their gender, or their circumstances. People who can't or won't recognize their own privilege are the most clueless, self-serving, ideologues this country has ever had the misfortune to spawn.
No, in the eyes of a few here, that statement would make you a liar...just ask clueless or fog-of-war
See, Guy, this is EXACTLY what I was talking about! Apparently, as a white male, achieving success is nothing but expected (ask clueless why he's in the condition he's in)...everyone else has to rely on the benevolent government in order to stand a chance.
There are plenty of poor white males...poorness is a state of mind. I agree that environment and upbringing plays a large role in developing that state of mind. I applaud the Democratic party for addressing those structural issues. However, an "enabling" government isn't the answer; eliminating the tax on individual productivity is the answer.
I'm not even sure where this has gone now. I do know "opportunity" doesn't just come to anyone. People have to MAKE opportunities to succeed. Nothing was ever handed to me...I worked my ass off for years to get where I am. I still struggle as I pay off my wife's 800K cancer bills (and thats after my insurance covered over 80%), and putting two kids through college at over 35K each per year...but I do it and I find ways and I don't say it's anyones responsibility but my own. Does that make me privileged? No, it makes me motivated to provide for my family any way I can. Thats not a liberal or conservative stance...it used to be the American dream, but too many people have forgotten.
Unfortunately, this "transformative" clown we've elected president has done way more than his share to make sure hard work, personal responsibility, success & accomplishment are now things to ridicule. People like Guy aren't held up as positive role models like they should be but rather their success is deemed a consequence of being born a white male & nothing more.
It goes beyond just being born white. Successful integration into communities is key. The Native American tribe in area has less than 1% unemployment, as an example. They create opportunities for employment and education and medical for not only their own, but for countless others in the community. They are by far the minority here, but are the largest employer in the area and the most educated. Do they get government stipends every month? Sure. But I guarantee they give back far more than they take.
