Interesting story. I know the Eastern coast of England has some treacherous waters, with hazardous currents and the like, that must have been difficult for u-boats to traverse at times. But, I bet a lot of them were sunk by torpedoes and depth charges fired from planes and destroyers. I know u-boats were sinking ships left and right until sonar was developed...then u-boats were sinking left and right lol Have you ever tried Google Earth? I used to run that on another computer, and they had some incredible data on all sorts of things, u-boats included. You can find u-boat wrecks all along the East coast, with tons of info and links to National Geographic and research materials, for example.
