I guess the best way to show your displeasure over a court 's verdict is to riot, loot & vandalize?

Some people tried to turn the Trayvon incident into a rallying point for civil rights. But, that's never what it was and now they're upset because Zimmerman was found not guilty. They obviously don't respect the rule of law.

Rachel Maddow tore into Fox News for what she called the network's illogical outrage.

Fox News reported on a conspiracy theory in which conservative watchdog Judicial Watch alleged to have obtained documents that detailed "the role the Department of Justice played in organizing Trayvon Martin protests" soon after the teen was killed last year.

After playing a clip of a Fox News segment discussing how the Department of Justice "was involved in helping to organize anti-George Zimmerman protests last year," Maddow reacted:

"In the real world, the Department of Justice sent officials to meet with protesters, city officials and law enforcement to try to keep all the protests peaceful," she said. "And if they were supposed to be there in secret, they probably wouldn't have worn the T-shirts that said "DOJ" on them when they went to all these meetings. So yes, the protests about the verdicts have basically been peaceful and emotional demonstrations. Yes, the Justice Department planned to help keep protests peaceful. And yes, Fox News is going to be outraged about all of that, all the time, even if in this case its outrage would logically seem to be self-canceling."

Your copy & paste claims the protests have been "basically peaceful"? Go tell that to the business owners & other victims. I guess they were forced to break into that Wal-Mart in order to obtain candles for their planned vigils?

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti told a late-night press conference that the trouble was caused by people exploiting the situation.

Where are ALL the riot predicted? Just curious. Fox hyped and lied about the riots that were going to occur even before the trial ended and yet we seem to have nothing more that a couple of vandals in LA taking advantage of the situation to cause problems. I'd like to know where are all of the riots that Fox predicted going to happen? You do know what a riot is don't you? If this LA stuff is all that there is going to be then I guess Fox was talking out of their asses again.

Just what Fox are you listening to? The most I heard about "riots" was when Fox aired the news conference by the Sanford police - or maybe you missed thqt part of the NEWS.

Riots, looting, vandalism, beatings...sounds like an OWS assemby (or the way the left portrays Tea Party gatherings). I don't know what FOX NEWS was predicting but the violence I saw portrayed was on NBC and various internet sites.

Right Wingers Post Fake Race Riot Video After Zimmerman Verdict
    By: Crissie Brown

Videos of rioting in Miami began circulating quickly after last night’s not guilty verdict in the George Zimmerman murder trial. But there was no riot in Miami.
The conservative media were beating the riot drum all week. Fox News host Bill O’Reilly asked his guests if a not guilty verdict would trigger rioting. The conservative Washington Times polled its readers, and 74% said there would be riots. The self-styled National Liberty Foundation offered a how-to-survive the riots post that includes a potpourri of conspiracy theories about the Department of Justice, New Black Panther Party, and Russian troops being brought into the U.S. to put whites in FEMA camps. And at The Other McCain, Robert Stacy McCain made this boldly racist prediction:
So it was hardly surprising that a video of a riot in Miami began circulating on Twitter within two hours after the verdict was announced last night.
Except there was no riot in Miami. The video was from the 2011 Stanley Cup Riot in Vancouver, Canada. The debunked video has since been deleted, but that probably won’t matter. After all, two store windows were broken in Oakland, prompting this reader response: “ blacks are animals this wasn’t a big surprise that they riot”

As Time‘s Marc Polite wrote Thursday, conservative stories of blacks rioting in the wake of the Zimmerman trial defy recent history … and reinforce the narrative that caused Trayvon Martin’s death:

“The last major racial riot occurred in Los Angeles after four police officers were acquitted in the brutal beating of Rodney King. That was 21 years ago. Since then, there have been several other racially-charged cases that might have provoked an outpouring of protest but did not. The police officers who murdered Sean Bell in a hail of 50 bullets were acquitted in 2008, and no riots ensued. The indictment of the officer that shot and killed Bronx teenager Ramarley Graham was tossed out earlier this year, even with footage of the police following him into his Bronx home. His mother didn’t call for riots. She made t-shirts to protest.”

In some ways, the calls for order recapitulate what this case is all about – the assumption of violence on the part of the black community, and of black men. No one seems to be concerned about the possible violence of Zimmerman supporters if Zimmerman is convicted. To try to preemptively deter the black community from taking matters into their own hands should they feel justice has not been done is ironic considering that Zimmerman’s actions themselves were a kind of vigilantism – a violence above and beyond what many, including the prosecution and Martin’s family, feel was necessary.

Of course, George Zimmerman was a white Hispanic and the son of a former Virginia magistrate. His dad even wrote a book arguing that blacks are the real racists. In fact, writes Cornell law professor William Jacobson at Legal Insurrection, “this was a case that never should have been brought. It’s not too early to demand an inquiry into the prosecution of this case. Angela Corey should resign.”

So white people who kill black teenagers shouldn’t even go to court. Because blacks are violent … even if conservatives have use video of rioting (white) hockey fans in Vancouver to prove it.

HYPED AND LIED? Your entire article makes one reference to Fox and I don't consider one person asking a simple question either hyping or lying.
