Old white men telling young child bearing age women what they can and can't do with their own bodies based on their religious beliefs makes me very sick. It's funny to watch the religious nuts get worked up over a faked photo.
The Museum of Hoaxes Fetal Footprint The source of this photo remains unknown, making it difficult to say with certainty whether it is real or fake. However, it is very probably fake. Although a woman will often see her belly bulge when a baby thrusts out a limb, the abdominal wall is too muscular and thick to allow a footprint to be seen with this clarity. The only way a fetal footprint could be seen in this way would be in the rare case of an ectopic pregnancy, which involves a fetus developing outside the uterus. This condition can be life-threatening for both mother and baby, but this photo does not appear to show an ectopic pregnancy. In addition, the footprint seems disproportionately large for a fetus. The wing-nuts! So gullible! So damn gullible. "But I saw a pi-ture ma....On the inter-web!" "It had to be real ma!"
It's not just THEIR bodies. The body of another human being is involved, too. The photo is fake? Prove it.
Oh, OK you can't prove it. To be fair, I can't prove it either. But, that's not the point. It doesn't matter whether this photo is real or an artistic interpretation. The point is that there is a living human being with a life of its own inside a woman's womb who can become the victim of homicide and advocates of abortion see nothing wrong with that.
He claims it's real? < )) republicans )) will believe any bs that suits their agenda. < )) anti-socialists )) ......are just retarded by nature. The definition of the foot within the image clearly indicates fraud, as in an anti-socialist liar, lying to make a point. There is no way the toes, for example, would be as defined as they are, should a fetus push it's foot against the womb in the manner expressed in the image. It's obviously a photo-shopped image, but republicans...especially the anti-socialist kind...are not prone to common sense, they are prone to lying.
The photo has been circulating since 2004 and nobody has come forward to authenticate it. What does your instinct tell you about that and the fact that the uterus wall is far too thick to ever allow for such a defined image? But thanks for at least admitting that you have as much proof that it is real as I have that it isn't. In my opinion, it is just another anti-abortion crowd photo-shopped image designed to provoke a group that best gets their emotional rocks off though pictures rather than actual written facts. The abortion debate is all about messaging. You and of course your side of this debate like to say that you are protecting the unborn. What gives you that authority? By whose charge do you presuppose that any woman's choice to create or not create a human life is yours to decide? The law of this country says that it is perfectly legal to abort a pregnancy if the mother chooses. The medical profession has no issue with the abortion procedure. Hell, my guess is that Libertarians are probably not even against a woman making her own decision but then again, they are kind of wacky and inconsistent. So by what authority do you guys give yourselves the right to make the decision for any woman? I just can't figure out why you guys think you have the power to decide what a woman can do with respect to her own body because after all, you can't separate a woman from her reproductive system so you have to consider both the woman and the potential child. You seem to only be considering half of the equation which basically ignores the rights of the person already here and assumes the power to speak for someone that hasn't even been born. So where does your authority come from? Simple question.
Thanks for at least admitting that you have as much proof that it's fake as I have that it isn't. The "authority" I think you're failing to see here is the Constitution itself. That whole "right to life" thing you may have heard about but are unfamiliar with. The problem is that you can't tell me when you think life begins. Will you at least TRY to tell me when you think life begins? At least give me your opinion even if it's not based in fact? The problem with your argument that it's a woman's body is contradictory to the fact that she's carrying a distinct, separate, living, individual human being inside her. It's not her spleen. Or her liver. Or her gall bladder. It's an individual life with its own heart, brain, fingers, toes, eyes, arms and legs.
I don't think so since the Supreme Court in Roe v Wade already determined that abortion IS constitutional. They correctly rendered a verdict that the woman's rights trumped the rights of an unborn, undeveloped, unrealized human being. Also, I don't know how to define "life" and even if I did know how, I am not a medical professional. There are certainly many ways to define life i.e. survivability outside of the womb, a heart beat, a brain stem, etc., but none of those definitions are either defined by the law as life or the medical profession as life. So whose definition are you agreeing with? The problem with your argument is that you believe that, "she's [a woman] carrying a distinct, separate, living, individual human being inside her." with no proof at all that that is actually the case except by your own definition of life. You also believe for some reason that abortions are preformed on fully developed fetuses which is more or less rare compared to the abortions that are performed on bundles of tissue about the size of a grain of rice. You have been conditioned to see abortion as the shredding of a 6 pound fetus and that almost never happens but that is how the anti-abortion crowd wants you to think about it.
Then they despise the newly-born child and it's parents, should they be eligible for government assistance benefits. Hypocrites.
Based on data compiled by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), CBO estimates that, each year, about 11,000 abortions take place 20 weeks or more after fertilization. http://www.cbo.gov/sites/default/files/cbofiles/attachments/hr1797.pdf 11,000 also happens to be the same as the amount of gun homicides in the US each year. Statistical coincidences are fun.
But, but, but....I thought you righties were about government staying out of people's lives. I don't get it. Whats more in your life than telling you what you can or can't do with your own body? Hypocrites to the core. No wonder the Republican party is in it's death throws.
A horrible number, to be sure. Here's CDC info: http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/ss6015a1.htm?s_cid=ss6015a1_w About half-way down there's a table (# 7) that more or less agrees with your number. It's from 2008 and states that a total of 8,028 abortions occurred after 20 weeks of gestation. Wayyy further down, on Table # 25, there's info on legal and illegal abortions from the years 1972-2007. Sorry this has to be the subject you come back to, but it's still good to see ya.
Eleven thousand dead babies. That's disgusting. Absolutely sickening. When will people learn to stop killing other human beings, pre-birth and post-birth? Probably never.
OKC, lets say your wife or daughter is brutally raped and it results in her pregnancy. It's already bad enough she was raped, but now, because you're 100% pro-life you ban her getting an abortion, she has to raise a child of a rapist, making her bitter and perhaps unloving toward this child. She turns to drugs and alcohol to deal with the shame, resulting in her losing her job and home and friends and endangering the child, until one day in a drunken stupor she straps the baby in the car seat, or at least she assumes she does because she's too drunk to know or care, and decides to take a fast drive down a narrow, curvy road. Can you live with your decision then when it wasn't yours to have made in the first place, or are you so arrogant you assume these things don't happen to good God fearing white righties like yourself? I'm curious.
