MSNBC’s Martin Bashir reached new heights (lows?) on Wednesday when he accused Republicans of using the IRS scandal as a tool in their ongoing war against the “black man in the White House”
And as part of the GOP’s supposed racist war against President Obama, Republicans are using the word “IRS” as they would the “n-word.”
“Republicans are using [the IRS scandal] as their latest weapon in the war against the black man,” he said.
Bashir then referenced the late political consultant Lee Atwater who said the following in 1981:

Now, you’re talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you’re talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is, blacks get hurt worse than whites.… “We want to cut this,” is much more abstract than even the busing thing, uh, and a hell of a lot more abstract than “Ni**er, ni**er.”
“So, this afternoon, we welcome the latest phrase in the lexicon of Republican attacks on this president – the IRS,” Bashir said. “Three letters that sound so innocent, but we know what you mean.”

Maybe Mr. Bashir did not catch it, but Obama is one of those attacking this president using the IRS;

"This is pretty straightforward," said Obama. "If, in fact, IRS personnel engaged in the kind of practices that have been reported on and were intentionally targeting conservative groups, then that is outrageous, and there is no place for it, and they have to be held fully accountable, because the IRS as an independent agency requires absolute integrity and people have to have confidence that they are applying the laws in a non-partisan way. You should feel that way regardless of party."

If Bashir is at all correct, this is a question that will blanket the party in question with a lot more public scrutiny. Let the chips fall where they may.

I think everyone here should make a mental list of everyone they know that certainly qualifies as racist in their personal lives, and racist by an objective standard, and then place bets which way Bashir's question will go for the party in question.
