If this is the sort of thing one of MSBNC's biggest stars spews, is there any wonder why the lefties are like they are?

UPDATE: Melissa Harris-Perry penned an in-depth response to her critics on Tuesday, saying that she has "no intention of apologizing" for her ad.

In a blog post, she said that she received "hateful, personal attacks" after conservatives targeted an MSNBC ad in which she said that "kids belong to whole communities." She went on to defend what she called an "uncontroversial comment," and called out her critics.

"Allow me to double down," Harris-Perry began. "I have no intention of apologizing for saying that our children, all of our children, are part of more than our households, they are part of our communities and deserve to have the care, attention, resources, respect and opportunities of those communities."

She wrote that she has "no designs on taking your children," adding, "That is not what I was talking about, and you know it."

ORIGINAL STORY: After a day filled with attacks from members of the conservative media over her MSNBC "Lean Forward" commercial, Melissa Harris-Perry tweeted a response to her critics.

Last week, Newsbusters reported on Harris-Perry's "Lean Forward" ad, in which the MSNBC host argues for the U.S. to invest more in public school education. "We have never invested as much in public education as we should have because we've always had kind of a private notion of children," Harris-Perry says in the commercial. "We haven't had a very collective notion of 'these are our children.' So part of it is we have to break through our kind of private idea that 'kids belong to their parents,' or 'kids belong to their families,' and recognize that kids belong to whole communities."

Newsbusters compared what Harris-Perry's comments to communist China. Sarah Palin called the ad "unflippingbelievable." Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck also took shots at the MSNBC host on Monday.

This is a very typical Right-wing bubble type of,...OK....I'll use the term,.....journalism. First, Newsbusters, a very, very fringe Right-wing media group run and funded by the Kochs and other fringe elements including the Media Research Center or MRC comes up with some phony narrative talking point. In this story, they skew the message MHP was conveying as to resemble nothing of what she was actually saying but put a weird spin on it to serve their own ends. Another Right-wing media group reports on the same story, in this case cnsnews which happens to also be funded and associated directly with the same MRC group that Newsbusters is supported by in an incestuous journalistic orgy of misinformation and inuendo. Finally, these inter-related Right-wing media organizations complain that the mainstream media is ignoring the story that they basically drummed up false hysteria over and claim that the rest of the media has a Left-wing bias thus justifying their own existence. As anyone reading this thread can tell, it works really, really well on the slow-minded conservative old angry white guys because they never, never bother to source information outside of the Right-wing bubble which is why I call them bubbleheads. Althought, I think bubbleboobs is probably far more acurate.

I did not even read the story (nor the one on MSNBC). I listened to the clip like CoinOKC said and she very clearly said just what I said in my OP;

OK, boob, I will translate it for you. Listen to what Melissa Harris-Perry says in the clip (sent out by both NBC and MSNBC) rather than reading what the articles say. Now if you don't get that, go play in your own playpen.

 

RLM, I think Little Joe would rather listen to the liberal interpretation from biased talking heads than to the actual words of the speaker himself/herself.

 

I listen to her words, what you boobs are advocating for is Newsbuster's spin of her words. At no point did she suggest, insinuate, or say that the government should take your kids as was blatantly stated in the OP.

Let me make this perfectly clear to you bubbleheaded boobs. There is NO "Liberal interpretation" here. There is only a Right-wing interpretation from the far, far out fringe and is bouncing around inside of the Right-wing media bubble that you two ding dongs live in. What MHP said was never an interpretation of her own words. They were her statements. Why would she need to interpret her own words? Duh???
