    Who said this:

"One of the main incentives of running was continued Secret Service protection so we can have men with guns around at all times"

Okay, I think I've overestimated clembo's ability to see hyopcrisy when it comes from the left......That quote came from none other than BO himself!!

Why would that be surprising? Liberals seem to have no problems with guns being in the hands of the state.

    Yeah,

I was yanking your chain David. The fact that you started the thread immediately told me it was President Obama.

I'm not anti gun as you may or may not know. The fact that you collect them doesn't bother me either.
Honestly, I figure you're probably very responsible with them.

What scares me is the availablity though. Yes, I know that cars, knives and even TVs can be used as weapons.
Seriously, a guy in this area was just sentenced for assaulting another guy with a TV!
He dropped it on the victim's head causing damage to the victim's cranium and trashing a perfectly good TV.

I live fairly close to Chicago in Indiana. Gun bans in Chicago don't work. No bans in my area.
A story in the local paper a few days ago makes me leery of the availability though.

Seems a guy here in Indiana sold about 40 guns over time to a guy in Chicago or one of the burbs where there is a ban.
The other guy, in turn, sold them illegally.

Where did the guy in Indiana get them? Gun shows. Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but the way I read it there are no background checks at shows. At least in Indiana.
It also seems that if a "collector" has guns to sell they do not need any type of dealer license to sell them "in small quantities". Very vague to me.

Apparently about 20 of these weapons were purchased from a father and son that are not licensed dealers.
No charges have been filed against them nor should there be. They didn't break any laws it seems.

It's the easy access to higher powered stuff that scares me.

Pretty sure Illinois requires background checks at gun shows. And a FOID card. And I think the sellers have to register the transaction with the state.

Would you be referring to Sonora or Chihuahua? That is where Holder and BO have been sending them.
