Not really. There is no public school IQ test given to students especially for 10 years old. They do test aptitude but not IQ. For example, all three of my kids tested in the 99 percentile for math. That doesn't mean that they are geniuses. It means that they tested better than 99% of their age group nationally. I think grandpa dick simply doesn't know what he is talking about again.
There are some vane parents that will take their kid to fly-by-night IQ testing services and pay good money for junk science. But that is more about the vanity of the parents than the actual IQ of the child. And let's face it, this poor kid was already born with a pretty severe disadvantage with addition of rimmer's gene pool.
