The insurance provider at my former place of employment is exiting the market altogether due to "competitive concerns & uncertain governmental control" (their words). When the rep was asked what that meant, the answer was "Obamacare". I've been asked to help in the search for a new provider & I'll tell you, it ain't easy. If BO's grand plan is to eventually force non-governmental healhtcare providers out of business he seems well on his way to accomplishing that goal.
That's hitting very close to home, David. It's sad to hear that your former employer is having difficulty due to Obamacare, but it really comes as no surprise. Obamacare is affecting many people negatively and this is just the tip of the iceberg. View attachment 882
The guy from the current provider is helping us look for a new provider and says we are lucky because we have options but other companies haven't been so lucky in finding a replacement carrier...added costs due to Obamacare regs are choking the industry.
Can you give me an example of a "governmental" health care provider? How about 2 or 3 examples? Just curious who exactly this governmental health care provider you speak of actually is. Lets just see if you have any idea whatsoever of which you are speaking. No dodges, just give me some examples.
Apparently, that was just YOUR opinion... Through the recession and its aftermath from 2008 to 2010, combined profits for UnitedHealth Group Inc., WellPoint Inc., Aetna Inc., Cigna Corp. and Humana Inc. increased a breathtaking 51 percent. Last year alone, the five companies’ combined profits grew 17 percent, excluding a one-time $2.2 billion gain from the 2009 sale of a WellPoint subsidiary. On Wall Street, share prices for the five health insurers have risen 15 to 25 percent this year, compared with less than 5 percent for broad market indices.
Don't forget that the Insurance Industry did a 180 once the Public Option was scrapped. Why? Huge profits coming their way with it removed.
Governmental healthcare provider? In BO's world it will be our benevolent gov't/provider. Afterall, Obamacare has been written to eventually force free-market competion out of business. My insurance company has faded away, which one of you guys will feel it next?
Alright, here is a typical Right-winger. He can't point out a single governmental health care provider. Even the dimmest among us could point to the VA but not this brainiac, he couldn't even come up with that example and in his words, "BO's grand plan is to eventually force non-governmental healhtcare providers out of business" even though he can't name a governmental health care provider. That is because he doesn't even understand the difference between a healthcare provider and a health insurance provider. The basics of our healthcare system are a complete mystery to him and he wants to pontificate endlessly about something he is utterly clueless about. I mean really, could he be more low-information?
I am sure this does not qualify as a "governmental health care provider" to you, but... My wife recently qualified for in home nursing visits. The first nurse spent about an hour with her and left a notebook with about 25 pages in it. The nurse spent about 1/2 hour having my wife sign papers. I am sure we are all familiar with right to privacy, right to appeal, etc. That constitutes about 24 pages. Then she spent another 15 minutes filling in a medical history for their (and the government's) use so someone else could categorize all her illnesses (and wellnesses). The she took her blood pressure, temperature, changed her dressing and left. Oh, and she left a page about that. Now, from my view, the government provided at least 3/4 of that "health care".
What you are trying to say is that the nurse that saw your wife did what is called a medical assessment. Imagine if that nurse hadn't done that. What kind of care would she be giving?
I guess it went right over your head. Sorry, but I thought you might understand. I guess I was wrong.
It would sort of bolster your argument. If you are going to assert that "something" went over someone's head, it generally helps to point out specifically what it was. Unless you really had nothing to point to in the first place.
Try this; The basics of our healthcare system are a complete mystery to you and you want to pontificate endlessly about something you are utterly clueless about. I mean really, could you be more low-information? Is that direct enough.
And if every insurance company contributed every penny of profit back to the health care costs, the health care costs would not drop 1%. However, if they would repeal Obamacare, every American would have about 5% greater income at their disposal.
