President Donald Trump insisted Thursday there is “no way” he would cancel the Republican National Convention, which is scheduled for August in Charlotte.

The president made that declaration to Fox TV host Sean Hannity. Trump’s comments came as the novel coronavirus continues its spread in the U.S. and around the world.

“We are definitely planning — it’s toward the end of August,” the president told Hannity. “Somebody was asking today, ‘Will you cancel your convention?’ I said no way I’m going to cancel the convention. We’re going to have the convention, it’s going to be incredible. . . I think we’re going to be in great shape.”

The convention is planned for Aug. 24 to 27. As many as 50,000 people from around the world are expected to attend.

The global coronavirus pandemic had raised questions about whether both the Republican and Democratic conventions will go forward. The Democratic gathering is scheduled for mid-July in Milwaukee.

Well, we certainly are aware you aren’t a positive thinking sort of chap. So again, what’s your point?

Another death wish for those who don’t agree with you. I thought that one of the core values of socialism was a genuine concern for people. I guess your brand of socialism is different.

It is odd that you are calling for the cancellation of the Republican convention and not the Democratic convention which comes first.

Yep, you want me die ...

You are a very sick person. You have no concept of the issues, just a huge hate for Trump.

You're thinking a little less than critically FD, unless of course you're deliberately making it look that way to buttress your position that President Trump would put people's lives at risk for his own benefit.

Asking if the convention will be canceled is the wrong question . . . you either know that already, or should.

The right question is whether the convention will be postponed or not . . . right? Right?

The better question is whether Trump will try to claim a national emergency and cancel the 2020 elections outright so he can join his buddy Putin as ruler for life. He has already hinted at it in his usual mafia-speak.

You’re simply reading into his speeches anything that supports your inane arguments, as will always be expected of you.
