First the media was phony, then the Mueller probe was phony, then the investigation of him was phony, and now the Constitution of the United States is phony. And you say that he isn't headed towards a Fascist dictatorship? What is it Republicans even stand for anymore? I guess that it's true. People that stand for nothing, fall for everything.

You people amuse me...In a sad way.

    What do Republicans stand for?

The rule of law and the truth.
    • The Mueller showed that there was no collusion. It showed the Trump - Russian collusion investigation is a hoax.
    • The current “super-secret” House investigation is phony. It can’t even stand up the light of day or bi-partisan questioning.
Who is imposing a fascist dictatorship? Certainly not Donald Trump. If Congress would work with him on the major issues of the day instead wasting everyone’s time with impeachment nonsense, fewer executive orders would be necessary.

The new trade agreement that Trump negociated with between the US, Canada and Mexico is waiting for approval. It will benefit American workers, but who is holding it up? Nancy Pelosi for strictly patison reasons.

If there are any fascists or communists pushing to impose their desire for a totalitarian state, it’s Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez. She called for a massive increase in government ownership and control of private property at a big Bernie Sanders rally in the New York City area. She might be the most dangerous person in government along with her anti-Semitic fellow squad members Omar and Tlaib.

Those three women are the most prominent Fascists or if you prefer, totalitarian Communists. There is really no difference between those two terms.

He did not call the Constitution phony, he called the emoluments clause phony. Your lack of specifics, proof or decent explanation shows your inability to have a legitimate discussion about the situation. Do you know what the emoluments clause is? I pray you do!
    Can he be uncivil? maybe
Could he curb his tongue from time to time? maybe
Is he a fascist with no respect for the United states rule of law? No

    Great post, CoinBlazer!

I could not have said it better. Trump's biggest fault is that he is too thin skinned. He should ignore some of the fools who go after him and let a surrogate answer them if necessary.

He needs to use his Twitter account because the main stream news media is almost totally dishonest. If he didn’t present his case there, he would not able to present anywhere, except Fox News.

Harry Truman was similar to Trump. He used to write letters when he got angry. The difference was he’d get his anger off his chest and then he usually didn’t send the letter. One exception was when a Washington music critic panned his daughter’s musical performance. Here is the text. Have a good laugh!

    Mr. Hume:

I've just read your lousy review of Margaret's concert. I've come to the conclusion that you are an "eight ulcer man on four ulcer pay."

It seems to me that you are a frustrated old man who wishes he could have been successful. When you write such poppy-cock as was in the back section of the paper you work for it shows conclusively that you're off the beam and at least four of your ulcers are at work.

Some day I hope to meet you. When that happens you'll need a new nose, a lot of beefsteak for black eyes, and perhaps a supporter below!

Pegler, a gutter snipe, is a gentleman alongside you. I hope you'll accept that statement as a worse insult than a reflection on your ancestry.

Article 1, Section 9, Clause 8 OF THE CONSTITUTION... "specifies that no elected or appointed U.S. government official—including the president of the United States—may accept payments from foreign governments during their terms in office."

Calling the Emoluments Clause "Phony" is in fact calling the Constitution phony since it resides in the Constitution. If you can spin it another way, you are true believer in the most real sense of the phrase.

Ok so if thats the way we play then if one person in the DNC is phony, then all of the candidates are phony since they all reside within the DNC

That makes absolutely no logical sense by any stretch of the imagination whatsoever.
Whatever happened to the Republicans that used to say that the Constitution was carved in stone? Now they only believe that it is written on toilet paper that Donald Trump uses to wipe his ass. What is a Republican anymore? Just a Trump psychophant that falls for anything I suppose.

    • A person that puts his hand on his heart when the National Anthem is played and teaches his kids to do the same.
    • A person that salutes the flag and not only at sporting events
    • A person that stops his car when a funeral procession comes down the road, steps out of the car and removes his hat in reverence.
    • A person that believes there are better days ahead for his kids and grandkids.
    • A person that believes there is still honor in being an American.
    • A person that prays daily that this rotting of our government from the inside out ceases.
    • A Republican is every bit as American as any Democrat.

Saying that POTUS is calling the constitution phony makes absolutely no logical sense by any stretch of the imagination whatsoever.
I never claimed that I condone what he said. He shouldn't have said it but if we sat here an attacked every small thing someone says, we'll be here all day, but that's what @JoeNation wants to do. Constant slander.
I don't know what we are gonna argue about when Trump is no longer in office, Joe will have nothing left to say

In any debate, you've already lost when you have to resort to an ad hominen which is an attack directed against a person rather than the position they are maintaining. My position is still that if you call a part of the Constitution phony, you certainly are in no uncertain terms calling the founding principles of this county fake. Of course the emoluments clause isn't the entire document but parsing parts out and calling them phony is certainly not defending the principles this county was founded on by any stretch is it?

I have heard of Marty Rubin. Forgive me if I am wrong, but didn't he have quite the penchant for publishing sayings of wisdom? Have my curiosity up now, I'll have to do some Googling on the fellow. But my knee-jerk reaction is how is that any more relevant than the Lyrics published on the back of a Led Zeppelin record sleeve?

Is patriotism considered blind obedience to a left leaning person?

Let’s get one thing straight at the outset @JoeNation. You have already labeled this nation as outlaw country from the beginning. According to you, it has been at war for 93% of its history. I didn’t make that up; you posted it. Furthermore, you have said that these wars were fought for imperialist purposes and not to preserve or spread freedom.

For those who would like to check it out, it's in the blog "You Can't Make This Stuff up."

You hate this country and what it stands for, @JoeNation. All your sudden interest in the Constitution and your defense of it is strictly out of convenience. You would shred the Constitution if you had your way @JoeNation and replace it with socialist document that would place all property and the means production into the hands of an all-powerful government. You are more radical than Bernie Sanders is right now, Joe. Later, if Bernie becomes president, he will strive for you want.

As for the Trump’s plan to hold the G-7 on his property, it was a bad move from the optics standpoint. While he made the claim that he would not profit from it, the truth is it would have been some free advertising. Therefore, he should not have announced the site although there are some very valid reasons for picking it.

The main reason was security because of the far-left demonstrations that have resulted in violence and the destruction of property that have accompanied previous G-7 meetings. All we would need would be for a far left crazy, and Antifa is providing plenty of those these days, to set fire to the site or injury or kill one of the G-7 representatives. Security is a huge concern.

The second concern is that this country should put its best foot forward. It’s hard to find pictures of Camp David, which is one of the alternate sites. The place got started as a Depression era project, and from what I have been able to see, it looks fairly rustic. If that is the image we want to present, so be it, but I think that more up-scale show would reflect better upon this country. I hope that we will be able have a G-7 meeting that will provide a reflection of the merits of this nation.

It can be. It just depends on the vigilance of the "patriot". I guess what I am getting at with this thread is; What line does Donald Trump have to cross? I have a hard time imaging him doing anything that would make his supporters turn on him. Where is the line? What would it take? I really have no idea.

Given your opinions of Trump, that’s actually funny @JoeNation. A free thinker would give Trump credit for the things he has done right, just I have written about Obama. But you condemn him for breathing. You are most close-minded person here, Joe. You have no objectivity. Absolutely none.

You have gone into the socialist/communist box, and you are a prisoner of it.

Yes, blind nationalism can be a great evil. The German support for the Nazis during World War II is the poster child example.

But running a secret police force that crushes all opposition is also a great evil. That’s where guys like Comey, Brennen, McCabe and Clapper are headed to name a few on your side. If those guys had their way, there won’t be another free and honest election in this country. Only their hand-picked people would hold public office, and those who opposed them would be prosecuted, convicted and imprisoned.

In reality this is a question that could be applied to many in our government, both left and right and has been that way for as long as I can remember. I suspect I know why this one man has attracted so much more villainy over other transgressors. I'll keep that to myself though. As long as imperfect humans are put into positions of leadership, they will never measure up to everybody's standards.
