I'm back in Ankara for a while. Youngest (28 YO) is getting married tomorrow night. I was hoping she'd find an American guy, but her roots are here in Turkey. Future son in law seems to be a nice guy, just met him and his parents a few days ago. His dad's a retired Turkish Air Force Colonel. Wouldn't know to look at him, but the groom's dad is only a week older than this Old Salt. A lot of Raki (Turkish national drink, sorta like Oozo) in his past.
Sounds like a good time is in your future. My daughter just got married in May. The only thing we can hope for as fathers is that they find a good man. Not one to abuse them or cheat on them
Absolutely. And having met a lot of Turkish men, that's what I've really been afraid of - the ol' double standard. I finally got to meet the young man and he seems to be very nice, respectful, and respectable.
