The police are out of control and in many cities, it's getting worse. Of nothing else these protests should be eye opening to the abuse of power going on nationally with police departments.

People being fired at on their porch while cops yell "light 'em up"

Elderly being pushed to the ground with riot shields

Instigation of riots by police firing first

    Drive-by macing of peaceful protestors

Widespread use of tear gas, a violation of the Geneva convention in war, but perfectly fine to use on our own people

    Calls to dominate the people

The shameful display by DC guards clearing peaceful protestors, a violation of the first amendment

And the years upon years of police getting away with the murder of minorities

George Floyd was the breaking point of a long series of events systemically targeting marginalized groups. I'm proud of governor Walz response today to open an investigation into the police for systemic racism over the past decade and try to make real change. He's absolutely right saying we need to address the issue with compassion and understanding rather than force and militarization. It's not enough, but it's a step in the right direction.

Have you lost your marbles? Are you really that full socialist/liberal propaganda?

Cities are burning all over the nation. Stores have been looted and burned. And you have the gall to post something like this.

You can sell this crap to your liberal friends, but you not going to sell it to honest people who follow the news.
Grow up son! You really need a reality check.

These thugs who are burning and looting are ruining the lives of people in the neighborhoods that can least afford it. You should have some consideration for the people you claim to support. But you really dont' care about them. You just mouth the party line.

Are there bad policemen? You bet, and they need to be removed from the force and criminal to kill George Floyd should go to jail for a long time.

The damage done by the looters has hurt even more people that those who are victims of bad bad cops. People are not going to invest in these neighborhoods. People in the neighborhoods will have to travel to more distant areas to get goods and services. And yes, more White are going to be afraid of Black people. That is the reality.

Protesting police brutality being met with even greater police brutality is pretty much what the phrase, "Case closed" was created for.

A cop-out, invalid rotten response. You need to grow up too.

"If you don't live there, you can't comment."

    What a load of crap!

He didn't say that you couldn't comment. He asked what you know.

    The answer. Apparently nothing.

Is it OK for young people to threaten teachers? Is it OK for young thugs to steal an elderly person’s belongings because it was easy pickings? Is it OK for little league kids to throw baseballs and curse at an umpire because they didn’t agree with the call?...... Come on folks. The inmates have taken over the asylum here..... We live in an age where being respectful to an elder is no longer expected. We live in an age where we glorify lawless thug criminals and loathe those that we rely upon to protect us. This is truly sick, people...... Soon enough, it will be in your neighborhood. With any luck the police that you loathe so deeply will allow you to fend for yourself against some thug criminals. My God what have we come to??

    Just the racists.

I am calling for an address to systemic racism and police brutality. Have you seen the videos? Police came dressed to riot and they were the instigators way too often.

If the unprovoked attacks on journalists and what happened at the white house don't sicken you, we've got bigger problems.

It is in my neighborhood. The building 500 feet from my door got burglarized. I'm not saying I endorse the property damage, I'm saying I want systemic change to address the issue that lead to these problems rather than demanding submission by militarized force.

I heard an interview today with an arrested looter. It went something like this:

Reporter... Were you here today to demonstrate Mr. Floyd’s death?
    Looter..... Nooo.... Well sorta...
Reporter..... Then why were you downtown today?
Looter..... I don’t know.... Well, I wanted to get me some money....

Folks..... This is the mentality that we are dealing with here. He wanted some money. Was there an inkling or concern whose money that may have been? Absolutely not! And here we glorify this? I am just beyond stunned. Oh yeah... These police that we pay a pittance to protect our homes and families are beneath this lawless thug. My lord it is time for this nation to wake up.

That’s nice. How about a raping, murdering and stealing compilation to ice the cake? I’m telling you. One bad cop does not equate to the national issue you allude to here. Dare yourself to think for just one moment what your life may be like devoid of law and order.

We are witnessing the next civil rights movement, a movement where people are demanding not to be profiled and shot for the color of their skin. It's endless, every few weeks a new unarmed POC is killed across the nation.

If you can't get behind reform for an issue like this, you are on the wrong side of history. I challenge you to think for a second about the pain and fear people in our communities endure simply for being born non-white.

Would it surprise you to know that my adopted daughter is black? And I am as Caucasian as they come. When you stop seeing the color of a mans skin the problem is solved. When you draw attention to the fact that he looks differently than you do, you have created the problem. I haven’t seen skin color since my Army days. I didn’t care if the man beside me was black, red, blue or green. As long as he covered his side of the hole.... People that put themselves in a criminal situation often get what they ask for. Even the white guys.

That's great for you, but the police haven't stopped seeing it, which is the problem here.

The white guys that tempt authority get exactly the same treatment. Dang why can’t anyone hear this.... It is not skin color. Attitude is the problem here. If you smart talk your mother, she tans your backside. She doesn’t stop to see what color you are first. Everyone sees the smoke but are oblivious to the fire. This is truly astounding.

The problem is that the police aren't attacking looters and vandals, they are attacking the protesters, the media covering these events, and women and children.

I think I'm seeing the picture pretty clearly. Scholars agree.

When you get too close to a fire, you just may get burned. I am obviously out of my gourd here so I’ll excuse myself from this thread....... Again I would challenge any of you to dare to really think about what your lives will be like once you neuter those we trust to keep law and order. I am afraid locking your doors at night won’t quite be enough.

The people keeping law and order are murdering people in the streets. I can do without that.
