I know that to a person in the west, the thought of an open air market where wildlife is slaughtered on hand for human consumption is somewhat revolting. We keep hearing this virus was a result of the wet market conditions. Do we know for fact that this mutation of the Corona virus was in fact born as a result of the wet markets? Or is that rather an assumption?

I noted that one of the “delicacies” that these people are buying and taking home to eat at these markets is bats. Even bat lovers acknowledge that these animals are nasty creatures. They service a place in nature, but not on the dinner table.

I don’t know if the virus got started in one of these places, but I did read in a book about World War I that the 1918 flu was started by a pig farm in a remote area of Kansas. An Internet search indicates that some people question that, but the fact remains that this stuff gets started by processing food under unsanitary conditions.
