The following books I have recently completed or in the process of reading, or have just purchased. I am an avid reader of historical or classic literature and I encourage you to consider picking up a copy of these books.

Beyond Good and Evil- Friedrich Nietzsche
This is the flagship writings of one of the most influential modern-age philosophers and his secular theory. This is the pinnacle of Nihilist theory and the ideas of morals as we see it.

The Jungle Grows Back, America and our Imperiled World- Robert Kagan
This is a short book about the ideas of the American world influence post World War Two, our geopolitical status and how the anarchy of pre-world war society is looming to return.

The Communist Manifesto and Das Kapital- Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels
The series of essays proposing the ideas and vision of the European Communist Party.

    Republic- Plato
The great Greek mind Plato proposes his ideas and values of society and justice.

    The Odyssey- Homer
A series of ancient poems and stories written by an unknown Ancient writer.

    Other Honorable Mentions

    The Gulag Archipelago-Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
    Maps of Meaning-Jordan B. Peterson

Sounds like you might also enjoy War and Peace and Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. Tolstoy is an amazing writer. Reading never killed anybody but some fear it more than death itself.
