Like Germany in WW2/ Ukraine is ahead in technology

Being masters of drone warfare was not enough. They tested a laser weapon that can shot Russian missiles/ jets out of the sky from 2+Kms.
Fun watching their drone guys destroying a N. Korean battle group. 500 in attack most wiped out before they made it half to objective.
Time for Ukraine to "off" FSB head......

 

2 km range doesn’t allow much time for the referenced laser weapon to destroy an inbound missile with heat . . . Only a few seconds. Aircraft are a more likely target, if low-flying. Even a weapon that disables a missile immediately upon contact will be largely ineffective if its range is only a few km.

Very true!
But it great technology to invest resources in. Lets face the facts both US/Russian buildup of nukes was insanity at its best. You can NOT win a nuclear War. But if you can have energy weapons that can incinerate a oncoming cruise or ICBM out at 20-50kms away/ makes them obsolete like the typewriter. US/ Germany are far advanced over their foes Russia/ China and thus would have military supremacy.
Reagan's "Star Wars" program bankrupted the USSR. Not its time to do same to Russia/ China.

 

Even the Israeli Iron Beam, with its range of 10 km, requires about 4 continuous seconds of thermal engagement to destroy its targets, yet most missiles will cover those final 10 km and reach their destination in less than the 4 seconds. I'd venture to say that lots more time is needed to develop laser defense weaponry to protect against conventional missiles, and much more time to defend against hypersonic missiles.

 

At the speed of advanced technology these days/ who knows. I listened to a science documentary on CBC radio while working. It discussed possibility of manipulating our DNA and altering certain things that can hopefully stop and better reverse ageing. Thats far better use of science then weapons of war. Problem is we have nutbars like Putin/ Xi/ Kim
