Anybody down with that? Why or why not? There is precedent as Republicans like to say. There have been as few as 5 and as many as 10 so the number isn't carved in stone. Why not have 13? We're a much larger country than we have ever been and maybe it is time to let more than 4 or 5 people decide the law. At least that would mean that 7 or 8 people get to decide.

That's not the route I'd go with it. If Democrats expand the court, why wouldn't Republicans do the same next time they're in power? I'm not totally against the idea, but it's not something you want to "shoot first" on.

I'd rather see an Impeachment of sitting ones. There's potentially a case to be made with Kavanaugh as more information comes out about Deutsche Bank and it's connection to Justice Kennedy's retirement. However, if that turns out to be nothing, then I'm afraid we're just stuck here.

Tired of defense. Time to go on offense. If everything can be justified, nothing really matters anymore.

Your tired of defense? The entire Conservative movement has been defending against the large scale and monumental changes the Progressives are trying to implement. It’s almost the nature of the beast for Liberals to attempt to implement new policies while Conservatives try to stop it under fundamental constitutionalism or some other basic principal.

I think he's referring to how the Republicans have turned playing dirty politics into an art and the Democrats aren't nearly as good at it. See such examples as:

-Voter suppression through gerrymandering and the attack on mail-in voting

-blocking Merrick Garland because "there's an election in 9 months" vs. what's happening now

-impressively, they seem to have successfully gaslit their core followers into believing anything left of their views is automatically socialist, communist, marxist, etc. used interchangeably.

There is no one party with an advantage playing dirty. It is rife throughout. And I am of a mind that they don’t get another dime of the wages we pay them until they all get to work and cease the horse manure.

Constitutional Amendment, Citizens shall have the right to cease pay taxes to the Federal Government if a referendum of 2/3 of the United States population votes to do so, length of time and specific details shall be included in the referendum vote.

I would vote for this in an instant.

Is that really all you can say? So have a radical idea that could put very strong power back into the hands of the American people, and all you can say is I’m whining like a little girl? Oh my apologies, I forgot, you haven’t attacked me enough, you have to get your shots on me right? I’ve been probably the one of the most reasonable and respectful members here and if all you can call me is a whiny little girl, I’m not impressed.

go find somewhere where you don't have to pay taxes, then you won't have to whine about it

I don’t mind paying taxes, taxes that are reasonable, but I think any sane person would agree government taxing and spending are both out of control.

"How about a 13 person Supreme Court?"

    How about a 17, 21, 33?

    How about . . .
    NOT!

Really? Name the last time the Federal Government raised taxes, especially on the wealthiest Americans. Go ahead, see if you can name the last massive tax hike. I can name name 3 massive tax cuts that primarily benefitted the wealthy since the year 2000.

They are: The Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001 (EGTRRA), and the Jobs and Growth Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2003 (JGTRRA).

    Tax cuts.JPG

And of course the Trump tax cut in 2017 The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA). The measure slashed the corporate tax rate by 40%. So as time goes by, everything gets more expensive for everyone including the Federal Government and all we have done for two decades is slash revenues coming into the federal coffers and that is why the National Debt continues to grow year after year, it isn't spending that only increase incrementally year to year.

So again, tell me when the last time we raised taxes.

Sure Mikey, why not. It's so politicize at this point, that it might as well just function as an arm of whoever is elected anyway.

I hear this bandied around a lot and there is something that I would like to make clear on this "wealthiest Americans" thing.

I happen to own a small business. Without saying too awfully much on a public forum I will say the company has an annual revenue in the millions. Because it is my company, the IRS considers me one of the "wealthiest Americans". In fact, I pay myself a very modest salary. My top saleslady earns more than I do... And she earns every cent of it too..... My tax bill would choke a horse..... But the fact is, my true personal earnings are extremely modest. My companies earnings stay within the company, not my personal bank account and I would surmise that the vast majority of the "wealthiest Americans" are much like myself.

My whole point is that according to my tax return, you would think I was King Midas. I very much am not. I believe this "wealthiest Americans" is a misnomer based upon my personal experience. I am sure there are greedy folks out there, but the average businessman wants to see his business and the people in it flourish.

Allow me to clarify, I speak of the radical proposals by the left, and the major economic, environmental overhauls that would cost in the trillions, Sanders, Medicare for All, AOCs Green New Deal, creates by the Socialist Green Party, and Biden’s Free College for everyone. These initiatives are costly and I know that the American Taxpayers are the ones paying for it if they ever come to fruition, something I pray never happens.

Could you list a few of the radical proposals you are referring to?

Which major economic, environmental overhauls specifically, so I can price them out. I think Sanders still gets his Senator salary under either the Reps or the Dems. Medicare for all, under certain drafts, ends up costing the Federal Government less than the current system is costing using for-profit insurers. Ask yourself, What are for-profit insurers actually doing? Are they directly providing health care? Nope. Are they interested in your health and wellbeing? Only if it costs them less. Are they a miraculous industry that needs to be preserved because they do....what is they do? They process paperwork, make more money by denying you health care, and they are 20% of the cost of health care. I think we have enough paper-pushers and technology to do exactly what the insurance industries do at a fraction of the cost. Hey look at that! A genuine cost savings for the taxpayers. Can we do that?

You might want to be a little more careful what you pray for.
