It was exactly this action that doomed the Reich in 1944.... We have Putin beating the drums of war and Sunday on national television, Biden said not once, but twice that American troops would defend Taiwan if invaded by China, a goal the Chinese leadership has long had ambitions for. So here we are. Will diplomacy win the day? Do we even have the diplomatic capacity these days? We certainly posses the finest and most motivated soldiers in the world, but does the national will exist to support the winds of war? I fear that we have painted ourselves into a corner here. I also fear that the leaders of the world that are opposed to us view us as weak. We have been so consumed with saving tress that I fear we may lose our backsides if Biden doesn't say the right things at the UN today.
Add to that that Putin announced today that he would use any means necessary in his war of aggression implying that nuclear weapons could also be implemented. All the while, our military is concerned over the use of pronouns.
This is precisely why I worry about our present state. I served eight years. I know what goes on in the head of a soldier and worrying over a pronoun destroys morale. Not only that, but our enemies are fully aware that this is the training that our armed forces is receiving in lieu of battle training.
Not to be annoying, however we are engaged at the moment on 5 Fronts. I don't want The People to forget Asia, Africa and America.
We are being affronted from all directions. As the bullies always say, "kick'em when they're down", and Joe Biden and the Democrat Party definitely have us down.
Well I was certainly proud that he chose the United Nations audience to address world LGBTQ rights...... We are doomed.
Well yeah.... When two nuclear armed enemies are beating the drums of war..... Hits pretty close to home for me.
I plan on voting Republican. Putin wasn’t beating his war drums two years ago. He wasn’t threatening nuclear holocaust two years ago. Ukrainian soldiers weren’t being castrated by Russian soldiers two years ago. So, if a Republican president kept him in check two years ago, I’ll vote for a Republican president next election cycle to put him back in check. The democrats seem to have allowed him to unleash his inner beast and let loose the dogs of war. And that is simply unacceptable.
Correct. But, you read my response nevertheless and it’s stuck in your head. Just admit it. If you didn’t care, you wouldn’t have bothered to respond.
Nope, still don't care. Asked Randy but he has yet to respond to the simple question. Perhaps he has no answer?
Or perhaps he had an out of town youth football game to attend….. It’s a rhetorical question. There is no useful answer other than what @CoinOKC said. It was the very same way I protested against the ACA. By voting…… On a world stage that is poised for war our president chose to make a few tough statements and then blather on about LGBTQ and climate while our enemies chuckled….. I felt proud when I left the Army. I felt I was a key element in ending a horrific Cold War. And here we are less than two years into Biden’s presidency and we are facing a new Cold War. On two fronts no less. And we choose to focus on pronouns, LGBTQ and climate. You can bet Putin and JinPing are quaking in their boots.
First off..... The Russians have never beaten the enemy on the battlefield. They got wiped by the Mongols in 1240. Later Karl XII of Sweden beat Peter I so called "Great". Karl ended up loosing at Poltava due to attrition by facing five enemy powers in the Great northern War. Prussia under Friedrich der Grosse beat them in five battles and won the Seven Years War. Later Napoleon crushed the Russians at Austerlitz/ Freidland/ Liepzig/ Borodino/ the Russian Winter did Napoleon in. They lost the Crimean War vs Great Britain/ France. WWI they got annihilated at Tannenberg/ Mansurian Lakes by smaller German armies. WW2 they had 25 M KIA/ Germany lost 1M soldiers. The Wehrmacht knocked out 100 K Soviet tanks/ 95K aircraft/ again lost thru attrition/ too many enemies. Now they are getting humilated by little Ukraine. Now the bully is acting like a rotten toddler rattling the nuclear sabre. Putin is a coward just like Stalin and would never start a nuclear war with the West/ knowing he would get incinerated. Both Xi and Putin are bullies, that need to be sent to the penalty box. Be really nice if that pretty Ukrainian sniper would take him out.
They didn't do so hot via Sea Battles either. That Russo- Japanese thing set up the world for what we have to contend with today, in the Asia AO. Our POTUS at the time didn't think that through. Thank you Russia (and POTUS) for giving us, first, a dominating Japan that culminated in WWII, and then the magnificent 2nd Act of the the 38th Parallel, and the rise of China as a Superpower in the 21st Century. Outstanding.
