I'm sure the lefties were hoping this issue wasn't going to be mentioned but did you catch the fact that BO only paid an effective tax rate of 20.5% for the 2011 tax year? That's less than any of us here paid & BO made a lot more than any of us did. Is that fair? The Pres pays less in taxes than us middle class, working stiffs? I think the next time this hypocrite wants "fairness" "shared sacrifice" (or any of his other class warfare hyperbole) he should first look in the mirror. Oh yeah, and Biden gave something like a buck fifty to charity again.
I am actually a middle class worker (probably one of very few here as far as I can tell) and his effective rate was 4 times what mine was.
If I understand the OP correctly, you're calling for higher tax rates on the wealthiest Americans, David. I think that's a reasonable position to adopt.
I say we applaud David for finally coming around to our side. Yes David, the system has been gamed so that the wealthy pay a very small effective tax rate compared to you and me. What was your effective tax rate last year David? 93% of the wealth created in 2010 went to the wealthiest 1%. Do you really think that they just worked that hard or are the other 99% of us just that lazy? All facts you can’t dispute but ultimately will have no effect on your ideology I’m sure. You lazy bum you.
The man is too scared to release multiple years worth of tax returns lest we see all the money he has had in Swiss Bank accounts and Cayman Island tax shelters. Some American he is but the Righties will defend him like a vicious lapdog protecting a bone. Ideology trumps sanity again for them.
You need to read your sources more closely. That is not what they said even though it was your slanted LW propaganda. But then that is all I would have expected from you.
So let me get this straight, MY "slanted LW propaganda" source, whatever that might be, is wrong but you can't say exactly why with your own "unbiased" source. Good post! I'm convinced.
Well, you don't understand correctly. I was simply pointing out the hypocrisy of the left in regard to the "fair share" rhetoric...especially BO.
I didn't really believe that you had wised up. I knew that you were still the lapdog of wealthy. Your health situation would be the only bright spot in my opinion if the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act were to be repealed. Although, throwing millions of people off medical coverage just to laugh at your situation isn't really worth it I suppose but the thought still makes me smirk. If only I could be as heartless and ideologically driven as you Righties.
Yep! Proof that you cannot read. Your news source may will be correct, but you cannot even quote it correctly. Why don't you go read it again and see if you cannot figure out what they really said. It really did not say anything about "93% of the wealth created in 2010".
You want me to prove you case? Wrong! Suffice it to say" income gains" does not equate to "wealth created". Go ahead and prove me wrong. Quote your source. That should make it easy to prove me wrong, but I will bet you don't manage.
Oh, you're playing the sematic game again. I see. Well here is a Wall Street Journal Story that calls it "Income growth". Since when is income NOT wealth? So you can't refute the point of the statistic so you play semantic games instead. Typical YOU! The 1% Captures Most Growth From Recovery You don’t have to be an Occupier to understand the two-speed nature of the recovery. While the one percent has rebounded strongly (thanks to stock markets), the 99% has fared less well due to weak jobs and housing. A new report, however, shows that the two recoveries may be even further apart than we thought. A study by Emmanuel Saez shows that in 2009 and 2010, the first year of the current “recovery” the one percent captured 93% of the income growth. That’s right, 93%. Forget two-speeds. It’s more like the one percent is in a fast lane and the rest are stalled in the parking lot. Semantics? Not really. Especially considering that "wealth created" has no relationship what so ever to "income gain". In fact, "income gain" may even be negative while "wealth created" may be in the trillions.
That is undoubtedly the stupidest thing I have ever seen in this forum and that is saying something. WORD SALAD!
Sorry if you don't get it, but I guarantee that it is 100% more truthful than your word salad - "93% of the wealth created in 2010 went to the wealthiest 1%."
Good point. Romney is afraid of America's reaction to the truth behind his wealth. As the election nears, I hope to hear more on that
