There's some nuts stuff going on with DOGE. https://www.wired.com/story/elon-musk-government-young-engineers/
Far less concerned about this that the thousands of armed IRS agents the prior regime put on the payroll.... When you consider motive, I am far less concerned about DOGE accessing treasury department payrolls to see who is earning their keep than I am about thousands of armed IRS agents reeking havoc in our nations small businesses.
Weird. I would have thought this group would be pretty up in arms over unelected randoms without authority or security clearance forcing their way into accessing classified info. Regarding the IRS, this is not mutually exclusive to any other grievances you may have... you can be against 2 things if you choose to be.
If your wife's spending habits have driven you to the bankruptcy courts, it is appropriate to look at her checkbook.
This is more like your buddy comes in and starts canceling your credit cards and disputing bill payments without telling you. It's possible for both there to be a problem, and that the current administration is going through a wacky and illegal way of solving it. Unelected and not even security cleared people are usurping the power of the purse. Officials that have tried to stop them from forcing their way in are promptly fired. Does that not concern you? I've been complaining about the oligarchy for a while, but never knew it would get so literal this quickly.
Interesting. Or should I say "weird"? It's actually very "weird" that you would question this. But, when Jack Smith was unconstitutionally appointed yet continued with his illegal investigation into President Trump, where were you? Where were you when the findings of that unconstitutional, illegal investigation were released? DOGE was created by Executive Order of the President of the United States. All perfectly legal.
As a side consulting venture lacking both power and accountability. They're taking power by force and counting on no one to stop them.
Wrong. See: https://www.whitehouse.gov/presiden...esidents-department-of-government-efficiency/ Wrong again. DOGE's power was created by EO signed by the President. Nothing was "taken by force". Pure conjecture. Try better next time
Try actually reading the order. They have no real power under it but to inspect and recommend changes. "Consult" if you will. He didn't even create it, he just renamed Obama's USDS. They also explicitly are only to work on modernizing management of unclassified records per the EO. They've stepped way outside that scope.
All the reports I've read say that DOGE was granted access. None of the reports say, specifically, who granted access, but they were granted access nevertheless. Nothing burger.
Well here's the deal..... For the last four years we have watched as the previous regime did more covert and underhanded deals, gave away our sovereignty, lined their own pockets, turned us one against the other.... All the while receiving cover from their base as well as all the major media outlets..... We now have a true leader that has no need to line his pockets and has spoken to us more in a week than we heard from Biden in the previous four years. The tables are now turned. Yeah, I am going to allow the man a pass because the media certainly won't and I feel quite confident that he is doing the right thing for the right reasons.
I may be on the political right, but I don't trust Musk in the slightest. I'm not a fan of how he conducts himself in the public eye, especially at the inauguration. This reminds me of how classified USAF documents have been leaked in War Thunder Discord servers in the past. I don't think we should funnel money to other countries when we've got so many problems at home, but that doesn't mean DOGE should have free reign to scrap USAID for parts on a whim, they need to do it by the book.
You are aware that 34mm has been parceled out to Politico since 2016, right? Yeah, perhaps the date is coincidental. Yeah, probably also a coincidence that Politico was the first media outlet claiming Hunters laptop was Russian…. Also a coincidence that Politico has been the harshest Trump critic in the media……. Don’t be a fool. Politico was paid off with our tax dollars…… More than one dad has cut up his college kids credit card because it was abused. Trump is cutting up the credit cards and your generation is the generation that will benefit most. Our nation was on the financial cliff of no return. Thank heavens one man has enough moxy to do something about it.
Let's see.... Trump is the executive branch, right? All the DC bureaucrats work for the executive branch. And all these temper tantrums are over one unelected bureaucrat calling the hundreds of thousands of wasteful unelected bureaucrats to task? Phooey.... Tar and feather em I say. Bunch of children in need of a switch is all I hear.
I get what you're saying, but let me throw something out here. When a scammer gains access to a person's checking or savings account, does the bank leave that account open? The USAID "account" needed to be shut down, and quickly, lest the scammers keep coming back for more. As Trump has stated, the few good things that monies were going to, let the State Department handle it.
Don’t understand the concern with Musk having access to peoples private information. He already has it. He owns PayPal.
That's a call to action talking point, and only part of what makes it legally dubious. Think of it this way: imagine if Harris won, immediately made a new position for someone like Soros or Gates, and let them personally go wild on pulling out the copper wire of government. All while letting them tale apparent leadership of the country. Do you see how absurd that sounds? That's not even mentioning the massive government contracts Elon relies on to subsidize his companies.
