As it turns out, not just Chuck Schumer and Mary Landrieu have accepted money from the Koch Brothers. Many other Democrats have, too. AP PhotosWhich Democrats Accepted Money From Koch Industries in the Last 8 Years? By: Daniel Doherty (TownHall) By now you’re well acquainted with the Left’s demagoguery vis-à-vis Koch Industries. To the surprise of no one, Charles and David Koch have borne the brunt of the Senate Majority Leader’s endless and incoherent bromides on the Senate floor in recent months, in which he has branded both brothers a threat to our democracy. But while the hits keep on coming -- literally -- Democrats find themselves in a rather unfortunate position. As it turns out, lots of prominent Democrats have accepted campaign contributions on behalf of Koch Industries, including in a roundabout way the Senate Majority Leader himself: From Truth Revolt: View attachment 2461 http://nation.foxnews.com/2014/04/14/which-democrats-accepted-money-koch-industries-last-8-years
Dem Senator: You Know, the Koch Brothers Aren't So Bad After All View attachment 2462 April 10, 2014 That’s essentially what Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) said today on Fox & Friends. Of course, he doesn’t agree with their brand of politics or support their conservative causes, but he does recognize that the Koch brothers are law-abiding citizens who (a) pay their taxes and (b) create tens of thousands of jobs. Democrats may lament their political clout and hate their growing influence come election season, but does that make them “un-American,” as the Senate Majority Leader enjoys pointing out? For what it’s worth, Sen. Manchin is one of the few Senate Democrats unalterably opposed to this kind of low-blow demagoguery; he made that patently clear this morning: http://bcove.me/f9az7e18 Unfortunately for Manchin, calls for comity in an election year aren't likely to be heeded by his fellow Democrats, especially when their get-out-the-vote efforts aren’t going so well.
OMG!!1! I am shocked, SHOCKED, I tell you, to learn that money grubbing politicians are so money grubbing that that they will accept money from those who are willing to give it to them. In other news, Water is Wet!. Of course, there's no chance that the Kochs are willing to give money to Democrats in the hope that they will have some influence when it comes to the decisions those Democrats make. None at all. Just as there's no chance that labor and Soros are willing to give money to moderate Republicans in the hope that they will effectively oppose extremist Tea Party challengers. It's a good thing that the landscape of American politics is clearly stark black and white. Democrats Bad, Republicans Good.
Well, of course! That's my point! But, don't bite the hand that feeds you. At least, don't take the food, bite the hand and then turn around and tell everyone that you hate the hand that feeds you.
I'm not saying they wouldn't. But, when you have the Senate Majority Leader spewing venom on the Senate floor about the Koch brothers while at the same time members of his own party are taking money from them... well, it smacks of hypocrisy.
Interesting Coin and you do have somewhat of a point. However, if the Koch brothers want to donate ANY money to ANYBODY they are taking a risk. I'm fairly certain they have done this in business ventures. They are "playing with animals" as it were. Don't bite the hand etc. Some animals roll over, shake hands and whatever it takes to keep the money flowing. Hmmmm.. might even be just pushing through anything the brothers Koch want if you get down to it. Others might just say..."thanks for the bucks dude we really needed it". That would be a bite I suppose. Again though. The Koch brothers are laying there money on the line in a gamble. Dare I say they are gambling on buying two parties instead of just one? Interesting thought there eh? I have a dog. I feed her comfortably because she's my "kid". She depends on me and usually obeys. I also have a lot of racoons go through my yard. I don't go out and hand feed them. They might bite me after all. That's a risk I don't want to take.
Interesting that you are comparing Harry to your coons. I also think he has lowered himself that far.
The takeaway here, for the Ozombies, is simple. The next time you're hearing one of the far left's loons telling you the Koch Bros are evil or that they do this or that for Republicans, just remember, they are doing the exact same thing for the dims.
The EXACT same thing? Really? Unless I'm seeing Coin's OP wrong that table says they have donated $316,000 to active Democrats from 2006-2014. I wonder if they've donated such "huge" amounts to any Republicans over that period of time? What do you think? As I have stated it's a risk. They've been "buying Republicans" for a long time and have been trying to tap into the Democrat side as well. A calculated risk and it just so happens they have the money to do it.
