    probably...I guess....

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump had a hard time deciding Tuesday whether impeachment distracted him from fighting the coronavirus – but he eventually claimed it "probably" did.

"Well, I don't like to think I did," Trump said at a news conference with the White House coronavirus task force. "I think I handled it very well, but I guess it probably did. I mean, I got impeached."

He added that, "I certainly devoted a little time to thinking about it."

The president later expanded on his answer.

"But certainly I guess I thought of it. And I think I probably acted – I don't think I would have done better had I not been impeached, OK? And I think that's a great tribute to something. Maybe it's a tribute to me. But I don't think I would've acted any differently or I don't think I would've acted any faster."

Trump echoed the claims of supporters who blamed the administration's slow response to the coronavirus outbreak on the president's impeachment case.

The Senate impeachment trial – which began with the swearing-in of senators on Jan. 16 and ended with Trump's acquittal on Feb. 5 – "diverted the attention of the government," said Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., speaking Tuesday to radio talk show host Hugh Hewitt.

Critics described the impeachment argument – one employed by many Trump supporters in recent weeks – as excuse mongering.

How unusual! The Republicans blaming the Demoncrats for something they where responsible for. Never seen that before. Well, it just becomes their latest excuse for failing once again. They simply have no ability to govern.

    Let's see:
    9/11 was the Democrats fault
The 2008 Great Recession was the Democrats fault
And now Trumps failure to prepare for COVID-19 is the Democrats fault

It seems like the only thing Republicans can't take is responsibility.

US exported millions in masks, ventilators, other PPE ahead of coronavirus crisis here
    Source: USA TODAY

American companies sold more than $17.5 million worth of face masks, more than $13.6 million in surgical garments and more than $27.2 million in ventilators to China during the first two months of the year, far exceeding that of any other similar period in the past decade, according to the most recent foreign trade data available from the U.S. Census Bureau.
The White House and congressional intelligence committees were briefed on the scope and threat of the coronavirus in January and February, but President Donald Trump has not stopped exports of key medical equipment – a move taken by at least 54 other countries so far.

The data show how U.S. manufacturers stepped up production and cleared out inventory to supply protective medical equipment to China for weeks, even as the threat of the coronavirus became clear. ....

The undeniable fact is that the quality most attributable to an effective leader is in their ability to inspire. Now, like it or not.... The man does inspire a great segment of this nation. I can assure you that the Pelosi's and Schumer's of the world do not possess this character trait.... And the fact that they continue to nip at the mans heels is just absolutely maddening. I read today that Pelosi wants to establish a "pandemic committee".... And if I heard correctly, it is to be chaired by Jim Clyburn! Jeez man, how deep in the outfield do we have to play now?..... Look, we are in one of the most critical times our nation has ever faced. The man is our duly elected president. Can we not just get behind him to defeat this enemy and resume the petty bickering and nitpicking once this is behind us?

What you don't agree with, is that President Trump is doing his best at leading. Others in the government should be following and they're not. As Randy points out above, they're doing their best to be complete dipshits once again. Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way. Pelosi, Schumer, etc. need to get the hell out of the way because they sure aren't doing the first two things.

Wrong. He is doing his best and failing miserably. Unprepared, refused to believe it was anything but Democrat hoax, said it would magically disappear, and has mislead the public on a daily basis. Fuck Trump! He is dangerously stupid.

And you hate Trump so much you are incapable any rational thought about him.

Like it or not, he is our president at least until January 20, 2021. In the mean time you had better hope that he succeeds, or we will all lose.

If you think that all of us losing plays to your political advantage, so be it. It’s a short-sighted, selfish position to take, but like Nancy Pelosi, you don’t want to let a crisis go to waste.

For the record, I think that Pelosi has acted shamelessly through out this entire crisis. She provides an iron clad reason NOT to vote for ANY DEMOCRAT for Congress. It does not matter what they say during their campaigns. Once they get to Washington, they will vote for her wasteful programs that have nothing to do with getting through the current crisis.

Nancy Pelosi is a despicable human being.

Like I said already, I can hate Trump for being an incompetent boob, a dangerous unfit leader, and a lying asshole and if those things are provably true, then there is absolutely nothing wrong with having that opinion of Trump. They ARE provably true.

Your problem is and always has been that if someone isn't several feet up Trump's ass, then they aren't like you and therefore their opinions must be false. I believe that there are none so blind as those several feet up Trump's ass.

He has a well established history of failure, dishonesty, immorality, and greed, but somehow you defend him beyond a shadow of a reasonable doubt and tell everyone that disagrees with you that they only hate Trump and that there is nothing more to their hatred than simple hate when the proof of his inadequacies is everywhere you look past and present.

P.S. You simply hate Nancy Pelosi like all Republicans do. Nothing more than simple hatred. Hate for the sake of hate. Before you accuse others of hating in one more post, look at your own hatred.

    Let us remember....

And did you think it was cool when Nancy Pelosi tried to add all of that garbage to Covet 19 bill simply because she saw an opportunity to push her pet projects. She wasted several days of the country’s time after a deal had already be struck.

What she did was dead wrong.

But you're OK with a half as trillion dollar slush fund Mitch McConnell added to the bill with no oversight and also giving Steve Mnuchin the power to hand it out to his wealthy biddies at will? Of course you are. What's a half a trillion dollars to the record deficit Trump has run up in just three years? Peanuts! o_O

But you failed to cite this aspect of the stimulus bill while complaining about the problems with the bill so I have to conclude that you simply hate Nancy Pelosi. Another example of irrational hatred clouding the judgement of another Trump supporter. Your main failure is that you can only see hatred in others, real or not, while never think about the only hatred you can actually do something about....YOURS.

And in all honesty, I can't even figure out what you're complaining about. You say Nancy Pelosi tried to slip something into the stimulus bill and whatever that was that didn't make it into the bill makes you more angry than something that actually IS in the bill?

Maybe you could actually list the thinks Pelosi tried to "slip into the bill" and then try to debate those details instead of just calling them garbage and reviling them with no context.

The biggest thing she wanted to put in the bill was same day voter registration. In other words, you show up to vote, get registered immediately and get to cast a ballot. Once the ballot is in the box or machine, there would be no way to discount it if was fraudulent.

I imagine that not having to show any sort of identification would be a part of it since that’s been part of your voter rights demands for a long time. You can’t rent a car, motel room or get medical services without an ID, but your in world you should be allowed to vote. There is no is no way that a poll watcher could challenge such a voter, because none of their information could be verified on such short notice.

So what you have is one more way to for the Democrats to stuff the ballot boxes with fraudulent votes.

You don’t care about this because it is a way for you to win elections.

As for the rest of what she was up to, I had a list, and it was a long one. I don’t clutter my mind with this stuff once the initial crisis is over. If you really want it, I’ll look it up and post it for you.

I posted the list here previously. But since you have a very short memory when it comes to acknowledging the the short comings of the Democrats you love, here is is again. The bill is supposed to address the Corona Virus, not you socialist laundry list.

    1. Corporate pay statistics by race and race statistics for all corporate boards at companies receiving assistance
    2. Bailing out all current debt of postal service
    3. Required early voting
    4. Required same day voter registration
    5. 10k bailout for student loans
    6. For companies accepting assistance, 1/3 of board members must be chosen by workers
    7. Provisions on official time for union collective bargaining
    8. Full offset of airline emissions by 2025
    9. Greenhouse gas statistics for individual flights
    10. Retirement plans for community newspaper employees
    11. $15 minimum wage at companies receiving assistance
    12. Permanent paid leave at companies receiving assistance

And yes, I am hoping that the Republicans regain the majority in the House. I hope that the Republicans will have a decent leader this time instead of the useless and disloyal Paul Ryan. As it turned out Romney and Ryan were the perfect team. If Obama had not been running, you should have considered voting for them Joe. They are your kind of people.

Loss of the House majority will put that rotten old woman back to minority leader. With any luck, perhaps she will resign because she won’t want to be in the minority. Then your party can make AOC, Omar or Tlaib minority leader. Those three haters are the heart of and soul of you party.

And yes, I do dislike Pelosi, but my enmity to her is nothing compared to your intense hatred for Trump.

That is Tom Cotton's Twitter feed. Do you have an actual non-biased source for you list? I wouldn't take Tom Cotton's word for the weather if he just came in from outside. Try again.
