MSNBC is saying that breaking news a la Faux is not their thing, “It’s truthful. They are more opinion based”. “They, along with their anchors, have their brand”. And what's wrong with that?

The question was, what's wrong with a network, any network, having its own brand or approach to the news? It's not a defense of the particular brand MSNBC has chosen to establish.

Right. Don't get your "news" from MSNBS. It isn't news.

Nobody really covers "breaking news" if you really get down to it.

The closest would probably be The Weather Channel.

    Think about it.

Au contraire, mon ami Clembo! MSNBS breaks news all the time! They break it up into tiny shards, mix it together like they're baking a cake and its subsequent sum is nothing like its parts.

Of course, they're better at breaking wind than they are breaking news... Just sayin'. View attachment 1722

I guess you didn't really think about it too hard Coin.
    Shame.

Your obvious bias clouds the reality methinks.

My reality sees ALL news networks doing this whether or not I agree with their political standpoint.
Ratings may just have a teeny bit to do with this. That and money which ratings create.

Where I sit there is only ONE channel devoted (almost) exclusively to weather.
Weather is important. It affects all of us.

Let's take a look at the recent disaster in Moore shall we?

A huge F5 tornado killed quite a few people and devastated a town. Was it breaking news reporteded accurately?
How would they benefit from NOT reporting it accurately?

Naturally ALL of the networks reported on it as well. Not to the scope of The Weather Channel though as they all have other stories to report as they see fit as "news".

Eventually politics creeps in as with any disaster these days it seems.

Do you see The Weather Channel involved in that game?

I don't. Hence my original statement.
